Melancholy of the Abandoned Lands by Nevena Aleksovski is a visual story consisting of drawings, photographs from family albums and found pictures. Nevena focuses on the topics of identity, migration and alienation by turning to her family’s migration history through the Balkan countries. The book builds on Nevena's broader and long-standing artistic interest, which addresses migrations and personal geographies and is also realized through art exhibitions and installations.
